1: Tikka To Ride (17 Jan 97)

As a result of the fight with their future selves, the Starbug's entire stock of curry has been destroyed. After several failed attempts, they manage to restore the status quo.

3: Ouroboros (31 Jan 97)

Starbug encounters a 'rip' in the space-time continuum. The crew investigate and meet their counterparts from another dimension. They also meet an 'alternate' version of Christine Kochanski, who survived instead of the 'alternate' Dave Lister.

A Gelf warship attacks and the 'alternate' Kochanski is trapped on 'our' side of the 'rip'. Dave Lister subsequently discovers that Christine Kochanski is his mother and that he's his own father.

Also appearing:
Alexander John-Jules (Baby Lister)

Written by: Doug Naylor
Director: Ed Bye

The title comes from to the Worm Ouroboros, a mythical serpent which swallows its own tail and is therefore 'endless'. By being his own father, Dave Lister's existence is eternal, repeating endlessly. Lister refers to it as a "holding pattern for the human race".

4: Duct Soup (7 Feb 97)

Christine Kochanski isn't at all happy with her new surroundings. Everything on Starbug compares unfavourably with what she's used to.

A malfunction causes Stabug's generator to break down and the crew end up having to crawl through miles of ventilation ducts to reach the engine room. En route, Dave Lister reveals that he suffers from claustrophobia. Eventually, Kryten reveals that they needn't have crawled through the ventilation ducts after all.

5: Blue (14 Feb 97)

Lister finds that he's missing Arnold Rimmer. Kryten cures him of his melancholy by taking him, Kochanski and the Cat through the 'Arnold Rimmer Experience' in the Artificial Reality Suite.

6: Beyond A Joke (21 Feb 97)

Cristine Kochanski takes Lister and the Cat into Pride and Prejudice World in the Artificial Reality Suite. Kryten gets annoyed because they're all late for a special meal he's prepared, so he goes to fetch them, complete with tank. Unfortunately, Kryten is so incensed by the rest of the crew's behaviour that he blows up all of his heads. Lister and company have to trade with a rather unpleasant simulant to get the necessary parts to repair Kryten.

7: Epideme (28 Feb 97)

The crew discover a giant spacecraft entombed in ice. On board, they find the frozen body of Caroline Carmen, a former member of the Red Dwarf crew. They take the body back to Starbug, thaw it out and find that it's a zombie, animated only by an especially nasty virus called Epideme. Lister becomes infected and has only a short time to live. Kryten hooks up the Universal Language Translator and manages to establish communication with the virus. He tries to talk the virus out of killing Lister, but fails. As a last desperate measure, they force the virus into moving into Lister's arm, which is then amputated.

Also appearing:
Nicky Leatherbarrow (Caroline Carmen), Gary Martin (Voice Of Epideme)

Written by: Paul Alexander, Doug Naylor
Director: Ed Bye

8: Nanarchy (7 Mar 97)

Dave Lister is finding it very difficult to get used to being without one of his arms. Kryten tries unsuccessfully to provide an acceptable artificial substitute. He decides that the best course of action would be to get hold of some 'nanobots', microscopic robot creatures which could be used to construct a new arm for Lister. Kryten used to have some, but he 'lost' them when Red Dwarf went missing. The crew take Starbug back to the planet where they found the 'Esperanto' (in 'Back To Reality'). There they find the nanobots, Holly and the remains of Red Dwarf. Kryten gets the tiny robots to build a new arm for Dave Lister. Then he makes them reconstruct Red Dwarf.

Also appearing:
Norman Lovett (Holly)
