5: Demons And Angels (19 Mar 92)

Kryten builds a triplicator, which can produce two copies of any object. When it's tested on a strawberry, it produces an absolutely wonderful strawberry and one absolutely awful one.

Trying to reverse the effect, the crew manage to destroy Red Dwarf. They escape in Starbug and find that the triplicator has produced two copies of Red Dwarf - one crewed by perfect versions of themselves, the other by vile copies.

The crew manage to combine the two copies to regenerate the original Red Dwarf.

6: Back To Reality (26 Mar 92)

The crew land on an ocean planet and find an ocean seeding ship called the Esperanto. They find that the entire crew committed suicide because of the effects of ink from a giant 'Despair Squid'. As Starbug lifts off, it's apparently destroyed by the Despair Squid.

The crew wake up to find that they've spent the past four years playing a total immersion video game called "Red Dwarf". Finding 'reality' depressing and unbearable, the crew decide to kill themselves. They're rescued by Holly, who explains that they've been suffering from hallucinations caused by the ink from the Despair Squid.

Anastasia Hille (New Kochanski), Marie McCarthy (Nurse), John Sharian (New Lister), Timothy Spall (Andy), Lenny Van Dohlen (Cop)
