Summary
The royal family, wishing to improve their image with the public, appoint PR man Max Kelvin (Warren Clarke) as their principal press officer. His rather coarse, abrasive style doesn't go down well with the rest of the staff at at Buckingham Palace.
His chief antagonist is Lord Montague Bermondsey (Leslie Phillips), the Lord Chamberlain, who believes that he has a duty to preserve "traditional values".
The other staff are Caroline Finch (Serena Gordon), Sir Nicholas Foulsham (Neil Stacy), Lady Sharpcott (Margaret Courtenay), Giles Huntingdon (Jeremy Sinden), Danny Jackson (Barry Howard), Ray Barker (Sean Gallagher), Kate Hargreaves (Louise Germaine) and Ambrose Stebbings (Preston Lockwood).
