Summary
Ashley Phillips (Nicholas Lyndhurst) lives with his girlfriend Elaine (Janet Dibley). He wants to marry her, but she keeps turning down his proposals.
Ashley gets plenty of advice and encouragement from his grandfather, Perce (Patrick Troughton, later Tenniel Evans).
In the last series, Ashley and Elaine are finally married and a baby is expected.
