Summary
Les Brooks (Sam Kelly) is a middle-aged man who suddenly finds himself facing redundancy.
Not wanting to join the doel queue, Les comes up with a series of elaborate money-making schemes, every one of which is doomed to failure.
His wife Maureen (Marcia Warren) has to take a job in a pub to bring home enough money to keep the family going while Les is busy wasting his time trying to "better himself".
