Summary
Inspector Spooner (Ronald Fraser) is in charge of a small police station in Woodley, London. He's a vain, eccentric man who lives in a flat above the "cop shop". His methods of policing are rather unconvential and he's not averse to taking the odd "back-hander".
Among the staff at Woodley Police Station are DC Bulsover (Peter Cleall), PC Goatman (Norman Rossington) and PC Killick (John Lyons).
A regular character in the final two series was the cantankerous traffic warden, Mrs Cantaford (Patricia Hayes).
Ronald Fraser was replaced by Donald Churchill for the last two series.
