Summary

Timothy Lumsden (Ronnie Corbett) is a librarian in his early forties.

He's still single and living at home with his mother, Phyllis (Barbara Lott), and father Sydney (William Moore).

He's well and truly under his mother's thumb. Although he'd like to get married and settle down, she somehow manages to sabotage all of his relationships.
