Summary
Brian Webber (Peter Davison) lives on a leaky houseboat in London. He's trying hard to make his way in the world, thus far with limited success.
His girfriend, Sonia (Sara Corper) is a very serious minded young woman who is passionate only about things like vegetarianism and ecology.
Suddenly, Brian's younger brother Steve (Robert Glenister) arrives in London looking for somewhere to stay. He's a lazy, cynical, noisy "Northern lout" who quickly begins to disrupt Brian's life.
In the third series, Brian moves to Newcastle to start a degree course at university. Steve and Sonia move to Newcastle with him.
