Summary

Two couples meet up in a singles bar. Malcolm (Roger Rees) is a loud-mouthed, rather arrogant market trader. He becomes involved with Pam (Judy Loe), a divorcee with a grown-up son.

Clive (Eamonn Boland) is a hospital porter whose wife has run off, leaving him with three children to look after. He becomes involved with Jackie (Susie Blake), recently divorced and keen to remarry

At the beginning of the third series, a double wedding has been arranged, but Malcolm gets cold feet and jilts Pam. She later becomes involved with Dennis Duval (Simon Cadell), an out-of-work actor with an inflated ego.
