Summary
Monty Python's Flying Circus was a sketch show starring Graham
Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin and Terry Jones. It also
featured animations by Terry Gilliam.
The programme, which was 'groundbreaking' in many ways, was particularly
notable for its haphazard nature, with many sketches seemingly being
abandoned before reaching a satisfactory conclusion.
It included some of the best moments of British TV comedy - the 'Dead
Parrot' sketch, the 'Nudge, nudge' sketch, the Lumberjack song, the Ministry
of Silly Walks, etc.
Long after the last television series finished, the Monty Python team were
still busy making films (The Life Of Brian, The Meaning Of Life, etc.).
