Summary
Charles Latimer (John Standing) is a true blue Conservative MP.
Lorraine Watts (Lorraine Chase) is a down to earth girl from a poor part of London.
The two meet up in a restaurant and gradually begin an on-off relationship.
Eventually, the couple are married. Charles leaves the Tory Party for the Social Democrats, then leaves politics altogether.
In the final series, Charles and Lorraine turn his "family seat" into a hotel.
