Summary

Maxine (Felicity Kendal) is a bright, chirpy young woman who runs a florist's shop.

She's having an affair with Luke (Jack Galloway). Although their relationship has its downside, Maxine can't bring herself to end it.

Meanwhile, Luke's wife, Helen (Jane Asher), is blissfully ignorant of her husband's extramarital activities.
