Summary
Lovejoy (Ian Mcshane) is what's known as a 'divvy' (diviner) in the antique business. He can more or less smell a genuine antique in a room full of rubbish.
He's also something of an amateur sleuth, aided by his sidekicks, Tinker (Dudley Sutton) and Eric (Chris Jury).
Other regular characters include Lady Jane Felsham (Phyllis Logan), Beth (Diane Parish), Charlotte Cavendish (Caroline Langrishe) and Charles Gimbert (Malcolm Tierney).
This popular comedy thriller was based on the 'Lovejoy' books, written by Jonathan Gash. Ian Mcshane liked the novels so much he bought the screen rights.
