Summary
Des Kinvig (Tony Haygarth) runs a seedy electrical repair shop in the small town of Bingleton. He's a dreamy, absent-minded man who barely manages to scrape a living from his business.
One day, he meets the mysterious Miss Griffin (Prunella Gee). She turns out to be an alien from Mercury.
Kinvig embarks on a remarkable interplanetary journey, helping to save Earth from the fiendish Xux creatures.
Kinvig's friend Jim Piper (Colin Jeavons) is a lifelong UFO watcher. He's consumed by jealousy when he discovers that Kinvig has actually become involved with aliens.
It was never really clear whether the things that happen to Kinvig are intended to be regarded as 'real' events or just part of a prolonged 'dream sequence'.
