Summary
Hardwicke House has the dubious distinction of being probably the least successful sitcom to be transmitted on British television.
The first series of the programme was originally supposed to include seven episodes. There was such a flood of complaints after transmission of the first two episodes, however, that the remaining five episodes were promptly cancelled (together with the planned second series) and the programme was pulled from the schedules.
The programme chronicled the day-to-day misadventures of a bunch of rather odd and unpleasant teachers at a third-rate school.
