Summary

Dr Toby Latimer (Tony Britton) leaves his wife Angela (Dinah Sheridan) and moves in with his son, Dr Tom Latimer (Nigel Havers). Sharing a flat proves to be difficult for both father and son.

Numerous attempts at reconciliation between Toby and Angela finally bear fruit. Meanwhile, Tom has to cope with the financial demands of his ex-wife, Helen (Jane How).

Eventually, he falls for his father's receptionist, Madeleine (Susan Skipper). He loses her to one of his mother's friends, but they are eventually reunited and get married.
