Summary
Charlie Fisher (David Roper) is an agent/ salesman for the Lancastrian Insurance Company, based in Bolton, Lancashire.
He's always cheerful and willing to help anybody. This makes him popular with his customers but causes endless problems for Charlie himself.
Charlie's boss is the ever-gloomy Arthur Simister (Peter Sallis), who is married to the ever-vague Alice (Gwen Cherrell).
Other regular characters include Jennifer Padgett (Sally Kinghorn), Harry Hutchins (David Ross) and Florence McGee (Jean Heywood).
