Summary
Bridget (Sheila Gish) owns a large Regency house in Brighton, Sussex.
In order to meet the cost of running the house, Bridget takes in lodgers.
She agrees to share the house with Frances (Sheila Hancock), a retired headmistress, and Annie (Wendy Craig), a widowed farmer's daughter.
Later, Frances's mother Josephine (Jean Boht) also comes to live in the house.
This was a UK remake of the US sitcom, The Golden Girls. It was a ratings disaster - the original 10-episode first series was dropped after six episodes had been shown, because of very poor viewing figures. The remaining four episodes were shown at the end of the following year.
