Summary

A motley collection of holidaymakers gather in the all-inclusive Solana Resort, Benidorm. Each of them is determined to get the most out of their holiday.

Geoff Maltby (Johnny Vegas) is a quiz champion (nicknamed "The Oracle") who's on holiday with his mother Noreen (Elsie Kelly).

Mick Garvey (Steve Pemberton) is on holiday with his wife Janice (Siobhan Finneran), their teenage daughter Chantelle (Hannah Hobley), eight-year-old son Michael (Oliver Stokes) and Janice's mother, Madge (Sheila Reid).

Donald Stewart (Kenny Ireland) and his wife Jacqueline (Janine Duvitski) are a couple of middle-aged swingers looking for as much sun,sea and sex as possible.

Martin Weedon (Nicholas Burns) and his wife Kate (Abigail Cruttenden) have only been married for a few years but already seem destined for the divorce courts. A holiday in the Solana Resort isn't likely to help much.

Gavin (Hugh Sachs) and Troy (Paul Bazely) are a gay couple taking a break from their newly established hairdressing business back in Derby,

Benidorm will return for a one hour special at Christmas 2008. A third series is planned for transmission in 2009.
