Summary
Father Peter Clifford (Stephen Tompkinson) is the new parish priest in Ballykissangel, a small Irish village.
He quickly finds himself at odds with his superior, Father MacAnally (Niall Toibin) and local bar owner Assumpta Fitzgerald (Dervla Kirwan).
Other regular characters include Brian Quigley (Tony Doyle), as Niamh Quigley (Tina Kellegher), Ambrose Egan (Peter Hanley), Siobhan Mehigan (Deirdre Donnelly), Padraig O'Kelly (Peter Caffrey ), Brendan Kearney (Gary Whelan) and Dr Michael Ryan (Bosco Hogan).
During the third series, Assumpta Fitzgerald was killed in an accident and Father Peter left Ballykissangel.
A new priest, Father Aidan (Don Wycherley) arrived in Ballykissangel, along with his sister Orla (Victoria Smurfit).
An Australian priest, Father Vincent (Robert Taylor) arrived at the beginning of the sixth (and final) series).
