Summary

Clive Quigley (Peter Davison) owns a small office supply business and is married to Melissa (Lesley Manville, later Karen Drury).

One day, he meets Sonia Drysdale (Nicola Pagett), who tells him that Melissa is having an affair with her husband Dave (John Duttine).

Sonia talks Clive into helping her to break up the relationship between her husband and his wife.

Unknown to both of them, the relationship in question has never actually developed into a physical one. Every time Dave tries to persuade Melissa to go to bed with him, something happens to prevent intimacy from occurring.
