Summary
Bill Chivers (Keith Barron) is an ex-con who is determined to "go straight". He now owns a small bakery in London, where he and his motley group of workers toil through the night making bread and cakes.
The staff consists of Tom (Angus Lennie), Courtney (Robert McKewley) and an illegal immigrant named Vanda (Maureen Beattie).
Among the regular night-time visitors to the bakery are Clare (Dinah Sheridan), Terry (Jacqueline Reddin), Wally (Paul Grunert), WPC Jackson (Jan Winters) and PC Digby (John Phythian).
