1: A Room With A View (23 Feb 98)

Gary is taking his baby son Michael for a walk when a bomb lands at the end of Ducketts Passage. Gary grabs his son and runs back to 1998. He takes the boy around to Ron's flat. Ron tells him that Yvonne is due to call round to discuss some printing work. She arrives before Gary can leave. He tells her that he's looking after the boy for a neighbour. Later, he has to change his story.

Gary asks Ron to provide him with enough wartime currency to allow him to buy a flat in the West End. Ron says that it won't be easy, since he no longer owns his printing business and the new owner doesn't like him doing unauthorised work.

Gary and Phoebe go to see a flat in Mayfair. Gary decides to buy it. They discover that Noel Coward is one of their new neighbours.

2: London Pride (2 Mar 98)

Pheobe is finding it difficult to get used to her new life in Mayfair. She tries to register with a local butcher, but he makes her feel "common" and refuses to let her open an account. She's also made to feel inferior by a "posh" nanny in Green Park.

Reg Deadman reveals that he's got 11 christian names, because his father was a fanatical Tottenham Hotspurs supporter. He didn't like any of his christian names, so he 'borrowed' the name Reginald from the family dog.

Yvonne appears on television. She upsets Gary by saying that she owes everything to her business partner, Clive Le Zouche.

Noel Coward gives Phoebe elocution lessons.

Yvonne is going to the "Woman Of The Year" dinner. She tells Gary that he's invited to a party at 10 Downing Street after the dinner. Gary goes along but the police won't let him into Downing Street without a printed invitation

Gary takes Phoebe back to the butcher's shop and pretends to be from the Ministry of Food, so that he can teach the butcher a lesson.

3: When Two Worlds Collide (9 Mar 98)

An unexploded bomb has been found in Ducketts Passage and Gary can't get through to return to 1998. The bomb explodes, knocking Reg Deadman off his feet. Reg has a change of personality and seems to be more intelligent.

Gary manages to find his way back through the time portal by clambering over the rubble. Phoebe follows him and appears in his shop in 1998. He tells her that it's his secret headquarters. When he tries to take her back to 1944, he finds that the time portal has disappeared.

Gary is supposed to be meeting Yvonne. He pretends that there's an air raid and persuades Phoebe to hide in the shop. He telephones Ron and persuades him to come round to the shop to look after Phoebe while he returns home. After seeing Yvonne, he says that he has to go back to the shop. She insists on going with him. To stop her from going into the shop, Gary tells her that Ron and his "date" are in there playing "kinky sex games". She goes in anyway and meets Phoebe.

The time portal has reappeared, so Gary takes Phoebe back to 1944. They've just got back to the Royal Oak when Ron Wheatcroft walks in after them.

6: We Don't Want To Lose You (30 Mar 98)

Gary takes Pheobe to a posh restaurant. French soldiers keep saluting him. As he's about to leave, he's approached by a strange man who pulls a gun and orders him to get into a black limousine parked outside. The stranger is 'Tufty' MacDuff, of MI5. He takes Gary to his headquarters, where he offers him a choice - he can impersonate a French colonel as part of an undercover operation OR he can be shot as a spy. Gary makes the obvious choice.

The French officer in question is Colonel Henri Dupont, who's Gary's double. He has a vital role in the preparations for the D-Day landings, so MI5 want the Germans to think he's on holiday on the Isle of Wight rather than preparing for the invasion of France. MacDuff tells Gary there's no danger, but everyone else keeps on about Gary being kidnapped by the Germans, taken to Berlin and tortured by the Gestapo. Ron gives Gary a bullet-proof vest.

Dressed as a French Colonel and wearing a false moustache, Gary is put on to a fishing boat. When he lands, he discovers that he's been left in occupied France, rather than on the Isle of Wight.

7: But We Think You Have To Go (6 Apr 98)

It seems that 'Tufty' Macduff's real plan is for the Germans to capture Gary and shoot him. This would leave Colonel Henri Dupont free to return to France and organise the Resistance ready for the D-Day landings. Gary is indeed captured and thrown into a cell. He's told that he'll be taken to Berlin for torture and execution by the Gestapo.

Back at the Royal Oak, the real Colonel Dupont turns up and says that he's been ordered to 'lie low' while Gary is impersonating him. He'll be staying at the pub and obviously expects to share Phoebe's bed. He ends up sharing a bed with Reg Deadman, while Phoebe stays with Margie.

Gary is visited by Celeste, a girl from the Resistance who's working as a double agent. She tells him that there'll be a 'diversion' while he's being taken out to the car which is supposed to take him to Berlin. He'll be helped to escape in the confusion.

Everything goes more or less according to plan and Gary manages to escape. He returns to London for a showdown with 'Tufty' Macduff. Meanwhile, back in the 1990's, Yvonne has asked Ron to collect a model from the airport and take her to a product launch. Ron collects the model as arranged, but they don't reach the launch. She seduces him and they spend the afternoon making love instead. When Ron tells Gary about it afterwards, Gary doesn't believe him.

8: Have You Ever Seen A Dream Walking (13 Apr 98)

The strain of time-travelling and leading a double life is beginning to tell on Gary. He starts having some awful dreams. He's also finding it difficult to distinguish between dreams and reality. Perhaps it's time he had a rest?

9: Love The One You're With (20 Apr 98)

Ron has been evicted from his flat, so he persuades Gary to let him move into the Mayfair flat, which Gary still owns. The porter tells Gary that the wartime owner of the flat was killed in a traffic accident. Gary goes back to 1944 to try to avert disaster.

10: My Heart Belongs To Daddy (27 Apr 98)

A down-and-out wanders into Gary's shop with some wartime memorabilia for sale. He says that his name is Michael Sparrow. Gary realises that its his son. He resolves to go back and do something so that Michael has a better future.

Phoebe pesters Gary to write a song for her and he agrees, reluctantly. Noel Coward likes "Gary's" new song and says that his music publisher wants to publish it. Gary agrees on condition that the royalties go into a trust fund for Michael.

Next day, a dramatically different Michael walks into Gary's shop. He's now a successful engineer living in New Zealand with a wife and family.
