Summary
Ernest Tanner (Brian Murphy) earns his living as an escapologist, performing on the streets while his assistant Sidney Pratt (Roy Kinnear) collects money in a hat.
Ernest isn't a particularly good escapologist, but the pair somehow manage to earn enough money to get by.
When they're not working, Ernest and Sidney spend their time in a seedy cafe run by Archie (Tony Melody).
This was a remake of the 1971 sitcom, Kindly Leave The Kerb.
