Leslie Flitcroft (Roy Barraclough) runs a small health food store, 'Nurse Nature'. He plans to run away with his lady friend, Wendy Watson (Kay Adshead) but is continually thwarted by his domineering mother Kitty (Dora Bryan).
Kitty doesn't approve of Leslie's relationship with Wendy. She thinks that he should marry plain shop assistant Brucella Pashley (Julia Deakin).
