Summary
Michael 'Rosie' Penrose (Paul Greenwood) is an earnest, fresh-faced young police constable working in a quiet seaside town in Yorkshire.
He lives at home with his domineering mother, Millie (Avril Elgar / Patricia Neale), his Uncle Norman (Allan Surtees) and his Aunt Ida (Lorraine Peters).
Outside the home, he has problems with his girlfriend, Gillian (Frankie Jordan).
His partner, PC Wilmot (Tony Haygarth), spends most of his time eating, adjusting his clothing and trying to avoid the clutches of WPC Brenda Whatmough (Penny Leatherbarrow).
