Summary
Edwin Thornfield (Edward Woodward) is the labour relations officer at a factory which manufactures kitchen units.
Thornfield has to mediate between worker-hating boss Frank Lazenby (Aubrey Woods) and unpleasant, militant shop steward Mr Blundell (John Comer).
Edwin's wife Monica (Hilary Tindall) manages an art gallery. The couple have a son named Robert (Russell Lewis).
