Summary
Tony Hancock's final series for BBC Television included some of his finest work.
Eighteen months later, he made a very much inferior 13-episode series for ATV.
The ATV series lacked the writing talents of Ray Galton and Alan Simpson. The programmes were also significantly under-rehearsed and were beset with constant production problems.
The end result was extremely disappointing when compared with Hancock's earlier work for the BBC.
