Summary
Hester Fields (Julia McKenzie) is a middle-aged woman with a grown-up daughter.
Although happily married to William (Anton Rogers) and well provided for, she can't help feeling that there's something missing in her life.
She embarks on a seemingly endless quest for self-improvement which rapidly begins to send William round the bend.
Three years after the end of the final series, a sequel called French Fields started.
