Each programme was a mixture of sketches, slapstick, song and dance parodies and spoofs of famous film and TV productions.
A retrospective series was transmitted in 2007 under the title of A Bucket O' French And Saunders. This featured classic clips from twenty years of French And Saunders, with newly-recorded linking material.
