When Jim Morely (Jim Broadben) is released from prison, he sets out to make his fortune in the seedy world of London's greyhound racing.
Jim soon falls foul of millionaire Larry Patterson (Warren Clarke), who owns most of the good dogs in London.
To make matters worse, Jim falls for Larry's wife Lauren (Alison Steadman).
Jim's son, Little Jim (Harry Enfield) works for Larry and soon finds himself caught in the crossfire.
