Summary
Blandings Castle is the home of Clarence, 9th Earl of Emsworth (Ralph Richardson) and his formidable sister, Lady Constance (Meriel Forbes).
The Earl spends most of his time in vague daydreams. His main passion in life is the care of his prize pig, The Empress.
Based on books and short stories by P G Wodehouse, this programme dealt mainly with the Earl's attempts to help "star crossed young lovers" find happiness together.
The Earl was usually opposed by Lady Constance and aided by his faithful butler, Beach (Stanley Holloway).
The master tapes for all but the first episode were 'wiped' early in the 1970s.
