Summary
Albert Hackett (Alfred Marks) is the stern head of a Victorian family.
While Albert devotes his energies to "ruling the roost", his wife Victoria (Zena Walker) spends her time bringing up their nine children.
Barbara Murray took over the role of Victoria Hackett at the beginning of the second series. She only appeared in the first two episodes however, then was unable to continue because of a miscarriage. Her role was taken over by Frances Bennett for the remainder of the series.
