Location Details
Lynford Hall, Norfolk, was the main location for filming 'Allo 'Allo.
The Hall was built between 1857 and 1862 and was modelled on a French chateau.
This made it an ideal setting for a sitcom set in wartime France.
A cobbled courtyard at the back of the hall was used as the setting for Nouvion
town square, with "Cafe Rene" in one cormer.
The front of the Hall was used to represent the chateau where the Germans had set
up their headquarters.
Lynford Hall was also used as a location for some episodes of Dad's Army
and You Rang, M'Lord?.
